The weather condition in Ella generally stands cool hill climate zone and the temperature range 20°C-28°C degrees.

Since Ella is located in Hill country, which has recognized as one of the best weather in the island. Ella has an averagely cooler temperature compare to Colombo too Hot/Humid and Nuwara Eliya where it is too gloomy/cold.

It is comparatively cold towards to the end of the year, especially in December but hardly go below 10°C. Ella is certainly a better place to spend days after your time at North/South beaches where it’s usually hot in weather

Ella is a city steeped in history. It’s a place of historical and cultural significance and interest. Before 1st Century BC

With many waterfalls in the area, this town is believed to have been named after the “Sinhala” word “Ella” meaning “waterfall’. One such waterfall is “Ravana Ella”, which is linked with one of the greatest legends in South Asia – the “Ramayana”. According to the legend, King Ravana, a prominent figure in Hindu mythology, is believed to have kidnapped and hidden the Indian princess “Sitha” in Sri Lanka. While many locations across the country have associations with the Ramayana, it is believed that Sitha was hidden in the caves ranger behind the Ravana Ella.

In addition, Ella also has a colonial history, with the British (Year 1815) having developed tea plantations in the area. Not only
that, but the British also built infrastructure, such as roads and railways, including the Nine Arches Bridge. Today it serves as a
testament to the engineering and architectural brilliance of the time and the colonial legacy

Ella Rock

Ella Rock is a popular hiking destination that offers beautiful views of the surrounding tea plantations and forest range Nearby, there are plenty of nice places to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Little Adam’s Peak

The hike passes through green landscapes and opens up to wide views of the valley. Ella Gap offers additional scenic spots from a higher altitude, and the tea plantations in the area added more experience.

Ravana Falls

Ravana Falls is a popular spot for tourists to relax and enjoy the natural beauty. It’s a common spot for photos, and local vendors nearby offer snacks and souvenirs.

Nine Arches Bridge

This well-known bridge is surrounded by tea estates and forests. Seeing a train pass over the Nine Arches Bridge is a memorable sight. The nearby village of “Demodara” offers a look at local life, enhancing the visit.
